Aslı Kutlu completed her undergraduate studies at the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Koç University in 2012. In 2012, she started her Ph.D. studies at the Department of Molecular Biology, Genetics and Bioengineering. Sabancı University under the supervision of Prof. Uğur Sezerman. Her research studies are about protein engineering for industrial applications. After receiving her Ph.D. in 2017, she worked as a post-doctoral fellow at Acıbadem Mehmet Aydınlar University, Department of Medical Statistics and Bioinformatics, School of Medicine, where she joined the Sezerman lab again. During the postdoctoral fellowship, she mainly focused on studying the mechanism of rare diseases through molecular dynamics (MD) studies to elucidate the role of novel mutations. Between February 2019 and August 2020, she worked at Biruni University as an assistant professor. In September 2020, she joined the ISU Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics as a PI in the field of molecular cancer research and rare disease mechanism through experimental and computational approaches.
